After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from San Francisco State University, Jennifer pursued studies in art history, color theory, design, drawing, sculpture, painting, printmaking and museum studies at City College of San Francisco, Diablo Valley College and California State University, East Bay. During this time, Jennifer studied under a wide variety of notable artists who are painters, sculptors and printmakers currently teaching and/or working in the Bay Area. Music, writing and cooking are also among her passions.

Jennifer’s work has been selected to be shown at ARC Gallery’s “Sanctuary” juried show, at Moraga Art Gallery, Lindsay Dirkx Brown Gallery in San Ramon, Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery, Gallery 621 in Benicia, Piedmont Community Center, Orinda Library Gallery and aRt Cottage in Concord, Ca.

Jennifer was among the winners of the San Francisco Women Artists' 2017 Banner Contest. The banner made from her art was displayed along Irving Avenue in San Francisco. In 2019, 2020, 2022-2023 Jennifer was commissioned by the City of Concord and the Concord Art Association to paint utility boxes in the area. Phases I&II Designs were created by Jennifer and fellow artist Melissa Claros. The design for CAA Utility Box Project Phase III is Jennifer’s alone and was installed this October at the corner of Ygnacio Valley Road and Alberta way in Concord, CA.

Jennifer has also completed commissioned work for private individuals, and is happy to take commissions.

Artist's Statement

While most of my work is a visual record of times I enjoyed hiking, walking and exploring the Bay Area with my husband and our two dogs, my overall body of work also marks the many hours I’ve spent in classes, online or in a studio session with live models.

Figurative work is a major feature of my portfolio. It is representative of my love for the work of so many artists from ancient cave artists to Baroque masters to the Bay Area Figurative movement and beyond. However, I also enjoy creating surreal or composite landscapes and abstract trees, playing with a variety of styles, media, substrates, and color palettes.

Now, as I look back on older sketches, drawings and paintings, I realize that they represent a visual record of so much of my life.

The seasons, along with recent deaths of loved ones, serve as personal reminders that life is indisputably, unscrupulously, and unapologetically ever-changing.

Always in flux, this is my work.
