Donna Marie Arganbright
Donna Marie Arganbright has been producing a line of original, funtional stoneware, mostly wheel thrown.
"I love making peices that people can use. I work in porcelain and have begun working with several new glazes which I am finding very exciting. My work includes ceramic baskets, plates, bowls, platter sets, mugs, vases and pitchers."

My credentials in art are thin. Most of my years have been devoted to other pursuits: teaching English, building houses, writing books, running long distances, raising kids. Now I'm a watercolor artist without a portfolio: no formal art courses, no degrees, no apprenticeships.
I like to experiment with styles from realistic to a vaguely abstract but resist being pegged a watercolorist of a certain type. Since 1996, when I first applied paint to paper, I think that I've evolved into a "visionary realist". In reality my colors are richer and brighter than in reality. Edges are softer, shapes and textures more pleasing to the eye.
I'm not an avant garde landscape painter, but I often see and do what others don't. My paintings soothe the spirit and satisfy the eye. Not long ago I was out painting on the Moraga-Lafayette Trail. A passerby stopped and said, "Oh, wow. I never realized the trail was that pretty."

A passion for preservation
I strive to encourage stewardship of our threatened planet.
Long before "global warming" became a household term, but in response to my growing awareness of environmental concerns, I began a quest to seek out the flora, fauna and landscapes that were deemed fragile, threatened and worthy of preserving.
My passion has taken me to six continents, where I have been privileged to witness and photograph wildlife and nature, capturing those special moments on film and allowing me to share my images and experiences with others.

Margaret Lucas-Hill
Margaret Lucas-Hill was educated in graphic design at the London College of Printing, London, England. She worked in advertising and, after her children were born, taught art in secondary school. She moved to northern California in 1993 where she has continued to pursue her career as an artist.
Although Maggie has long painted in oils, in her classrooms she taught silk screen printing to her young students. Continuing with this medium in her own work she found herself embellishing the prints. She abandoned the silk screen to paint directly on the silk fabric using a combination of the batik method and freehand painting.
Maggie also makes jewelry with silver and gold wire. She hand knits chains and created looped designs using wire wrapping techniques. She adds pearls and semi-precious stones to her creations to make a unique line of jewelry.

I don't have any artistic degrees as well as formal art education.
Being a computer professional and a statistician, for many years I took classes at local art studios.
The process of painting for me is a possibility to express myself as well as a quiet and inspirational retreat. I paint mostly with acrylics. My favorite subjects vary from flowers and tableware, human figures and landscapes, to abstracts and fantasy.
I love colors. I love to play with colors and create images on empty space of paper or canvas.
I have dozens of works in acrylics; many of them decorate homes of my friends and relatives in Bay Area, Massachusetts, Russia and Ukraine.
Some of my works are presented at my website at http://art.udanat.com.

About the Artist:
Art making makes me happy. It is my bliss. Art is a language I use to express myself. Always my works are alive with color. I am both an abstract painter and a figurative painter.
My abstract works are an exploration of texture, mark making and layering of color, non-representational explorations of my inner thoughts and feelings. My figurative works represents moments in time, people going about their day, immortalized, but lightly abstracted.
My art is deeply influenced by the works of artists Richard Diebenkorn, Elmer Bishoff, David Parks, Cy Twombly and Henri Matisse.
